AboutHireMenuNews

Welcome to Stewed & Baked

Stewed and Baked is run by Giles, the cook, who is the inventor and creator of all good things. He is the co-founder of eat.st and now foodhawkers.co.uk, and he’s driven Mary, the stew caravan around for seven years.

Giles is also involved in people change projects helping kids to access and afford healthy food in London with his menu creations. At Festivals his beautiful concoctions bubble away in the caravan, and smells percolate goodness in the air.

Unbelievably tasty, naturally gluten free, Giles will be cooking four incredible main dishes, together with his ‘bloody Mary of breakfasts’.

We believe eating should be a rewarding experience. Our slow-cooked style enlivens the senses with satisfying textures and flavours and it nourishes the body with purely natural, healthy ingredients. We also take great pride in creating food made from quality ingredients.

I attended the Green Man festival this year with three children, all with varying tastes and food aversions. We discovered Stewed and Baked on the second night and returned every night for the Malaysian Chilli Beef....we all loved it!

Since then, at least once a week, one child or the other asks me to make the Chilli Beef. We have raved to friends about it and they have demanded to be invited to tea to try it too. However every time I try to order the spice mix it is sold out! I can only assume that many, many others enjoyed it as much as us!
